BBB: Episode 8

Another exciting episode. I love that Tony can't help but create drama & intrigue at every turn. Hopefully he'll stick around for a long time, not just to help out J'Tude but to keep the blindsides coming! Right now we're standing at: 3 Brains left, 2 Beauties, and 2 Brawn. Who would've thunk it, considering how this season started!?

Current Standings:

Sinkers and Floaters: 62 points
1. Sarah (19 points)
2. Morgan (13 points)
3. Tasha (10 points)
4. Spencer (20 points)

__: 42 points
1. LJ (23 points)
2. Trish (13 points)
3. Cliff (10 points)
4. Lindsey (-4 points)

WooBrr: 32 points
1. Woo (19 points)
2. Brice (0 points)
3. Alexis (2 points)
4. Jefra (11 points)

J'Tude: 26 points
1. Tony (8 points)
2. Kass (4 points)
3. Jeremiah (11 points)
4. J'Tia (3 points)

Power Rankings:

1. J'Tude - Right now it seems like Tony & Spencer are the front-runners for winning the show. Clearly a lot can change at any moment, but for now we have 2 people in the majority alliance and one of them is an idol hound. Hopefully Tony can find the magical Tyler Perry Idol soon & get an even more secure foothold in this game.

2. Sinkers & Floaters - AndBag's dregs are coming up huge in the mid- to late game. Winning critical immunity challenges and finding idols is an everyday occurrence for them. They have a lot riding on some unpredictable folks, though. They need to stay sharp and be the move-makers to last for the long haul.

3. WooBrr - Woo and Jefra are pawns in this game at best. Jefra might be even less useful than that. Woo acting based on his emotions this episode, but looking at it now, was it the right move? Does he have a better chance of beating Spencer, Tasha, Tony &/or Jeremiah at finals, or would he have done better with Kass, Jefra, Trish &/or LJ? I think his former alliance would have served him better - there are more coattail riders in this alliance that he could have beaten. Oh well, he made his choice, now let's see how the doltish ninja does against a scheming powerhouse alliance.

4. __ - Gnight __. LJ at tribal totally reminded me of the king in Aladdin: "Nonsense! I'm an excellent judge of character." Next thing you know you're getting tossed out on your butt. How many players have we seen doing talking head interviews along the lines of LJ's where he said "I've never felt more comfortable in this game" before getting voted out. I think it must happen every single season. Have you learned nothing people!?!? You annoy me with your n00b opinions & mistakes.

This season continues to surprise and I'm much more interested in how it will turn out than seasons from the past couple years. Not sure if this should be attributed to the fantasy pool or to several interesting players constantly shaking things up.

This season seems so different from the normal (and slightly boring) plot line where a group of 6 slowly whittles down the group of 5 post merge. I have no idea who is allied with who anymore. Kass, Tony, and Spencer are turning this game on it's head.

This game is wide open right now. Tony and Woo are together. Spencer and Tasha seem tight. How will the players line up now? So many free agents. Kass, Jefra, DJ (Dumb Jeremiah). It's really anyone's for the taking which to me would seem to favor the carnivores.

If we were all starting with a fresh slate at this point I would agree that J'Tude should be on top of the power rankings but Floaters has close to a 40 point lead on us with only 4 or 5 episodes left. I don't see how they can't be in the top position.

I think Tony is the DoW for his constant paranoia and crafty (but douchey) back stabbing of LJ.

My Rankings:

1. Floaters - As I said at the beginning of the season, I'm rooting for J'Tude or Floaters because that trophy needs some parity in both winner's names and construction technique. The dregs of this team are keeping them floating on top of the fantasy pile. Team Floaters is the dirty filth that accumulates on the edges of a creek, the slimy beer foam that you often see in stagnant water. In the pond of Survivor, Floaters is the scum that will likely spread and suffocate all other life. GLGL

2. J'Tude - We still have a shot if we can pull in some challenge points. If someone on Pond Scum finds the T.P. Idol this game is pretty much over. In the pond of Survivor, J'Tude is the piranha swarm that eats anything and everything, including itself.

3. WooBore - I thought Michal's comments about Woo were pretty accurate but he's their best outside chance to win this thing. I don't see Jefra pulling in any votes at the end. In the pond of Survivor, WooBore is the cartoon platypus frolicking in the piranha swarm.

4. G_nightLbeeJ - This team, in my opinion, was the strong early front runner to win the season and is now relegated to the cellar and the only victory they can possibly eke out would be to not finish in last place. Go Trish! In the pond of Survivor, this team is the dead fish floating belly up in the scum.

Hahaha, nice analysis Wolf. My DoW goes to LJ.

nice analogy, Ben. Can we at least be a cool dead fish floating in the pond? Like a puffer fish or something?

I suppose my DoW has to go to LJ too - he was our shining hope :(

I am going with Tony for DoW. His scheming is running right along the thin line of helping him and hurting him. His lies almost got sniffed out, but LJ was too comfortable to make the effort. This week, maybe the scheming helped Tony a little. Next week, I'm guessing it will go the other way. Tony needs an idol and needs Woo to keep blindly following his orders.

Floaters do currently have the lead, but that could change quickly if Spencer doesn't correctly play his idol. There have been so many tribal surprises that I think it has been tough to determine when you are safe and when you aren't. I'm guessing Spencer will stick to the safe side of things and play his idol if he thinks his name might end up on more than just one or two pieces or parchment. This is smart for Spencer's game, but might be devastating to Floater's game in a close pool race like we currently have.

Jefra might win us some points for getting taken to the final tribal to keep the 3rd place seat warm. Certainly no final votes will be heading her way. Pretty worthless, but at least she didn't quit. Trish is now also in the worthless pile due to her Boston BFF getting the boot. Maybe she'll help Tony progress, maybe she'll make sure that he doesn't, or maybe Tony will target her next to make sure he can control that aspect.

I think Tasha or Kass might be my pick to win the season if you forced me to pick right now. I don't think Tony or Spencer can hold it together long enough to make it to the final tribal. If they do make it, I don't know if enough people can set personalities aside to give them a winner vote. I imagine either Tasha or Kass will be in the final 3 and I'm guessing they both can play the "I survived the whole time with no one" card to try to swing the vote.

Certainly all alliances seem to be up in the air.

Will this Tyler Perry special idol be found? I'm guessing some very specific clues will be discovered soon. Whoever gets that might get a huge bump too.

All still up in the air... Go platypus, go!

Doug, if you truly believe Tasha or Kass is going to win this thing, I challenge you to put your money where your mouth is. You pick the stakes, you get Tasha and Kass, I get JUST Tony. If none of our players gets first place, the bet is off. I'm texting you now on this.

Tom, I got your text and your wager was happily accepted. A 12 pack of delicious micro brews will fill up my fridge nicely at the end of this season. Thanks for offing up the wager.
